How COVID-19 is changing where D-FW flies for spring break

Pandemic travel restrictions are playing a major role in where North Texans are going to spring break, with travelers favoring beach and outdoor destinations and skipping states with strict testing and quarantine protocols.

Mexico, Florida and Las Vegas are still top spring break destinations for travelers out of DFW International Airport, according to Airline Reporting Corp., which pulls data from ticket sales. But other tropical destinations such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are gaining traction because tourists can social distance and visit beaches, but don’t have to submit to testing and quarantine rules for international travelers.

Cuba to quarantine travelers amid COVID-19 surge

HAVANA (Reuters) – Most travelers entering Cuba as of Feb. 6 will be quarantined for up to a week, the government announced on Saturday, and flights from the United States and some other countries reduced to no more than one per week per airline.

Travel advisory issued for London, Ont., area Thursday night

If there weren’t already enough reasons to stay at home, a snowstorm set to travel through southwestern Ontario has prompted Environment Canada to issue a winter weather travel advisory.

The advisory is for Thursday night and covers London, Komoka, Parkhill and Strathroy, along with eastern and western Middlesex County.
